ever bigger and more and more cunning stagings of useless paper
fires.

But once the embers in the oven are completely out so that they may
no longer kindle any paper fires, then, sobered up, full of shame
and despair, you will realise that you have been misled. Behold, I
warned you in good time.

Woe–woe–woe

to you, generation of priests, in those days of the disillusionment of
the people! This outraged and desperate people will demand your
blood of priests, and it will flow through the streets and into your
churches. Pray that the shedding of your blood will at least then not
be in vain. For in those days I will let your blood wash off and away
the disgrace and sins of the world. If only at the last moment of your
death you will cherish these sentiments of contrition and expiation!
Then at least you would still receive a merciful judgement. Later,
however, a completely new generation of priests will arise, priests
full of childlike zeal and with glowing hearts for their GOD and
LORD.
