Protection from Epidemics among Animals

The Sword-Bishop Brings Epidemics among Animals to a Halt

It was in spring 2001. The epidemics among animals were raging in
European countries. The foot-and-mouth disease threatened to reach
Germany as well.
At a pastoral visit a farming family expressed their deep concern, but
resigned to GOD they thought: „We must not expect to be spared by
GOD’s grace, and we must be prepared to take it upon us.“
When I informed the Sword-Bishop of this, he responded rather vehe-
mently: „Through the desecrations of Sunday the farmers have sad-
dled themselves with great debt. Hence these epidemics, and there is
worse to come, also in the flora. This farmer, however, has kept the
LORD’s day holy. He is not to blame. I will go and put a stop to the ani-
mal disease.“
Shortly afterwards, on 27 March, the Sword-Bishop visited this farm
and walked through the stables while I accompanied him.
Meanwhile on a daily basis there was alarming news of the further
spreading of the cattle plague. All were expecting it to break out in Ger-
many shortly. However, it stopped contrary to expectation oddly enough
at the German border. – „As the farmers asked me imploringly when I
was walking through their stables whether this blessing would apply to
the whole of Germany, I looked entreatingly up to GOD. Apparently it
has pleased GOD to grant this request,“ stated the Sword-Bishop,
thereby confirming this miracle.
