The Sacraments
The Sacraments
1. Baptism
Matth. 28,16-20 And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, unto the
mountains where Jesus had appointed them … And Jesus coming, spoke to
them, saying: „All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Go you
therefore, and teach all nations: baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe
all things whatsoever I have commanded you.“
2. Confirmation
Acts 8,14-18 Now, when the apostles, who were in Jerusalem, had heard
that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and
John. Who, when they were come, prayed for them that they might
receive the Holy Ghost. For he was not as yet come upon any of them:
but they were only baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid
their hands upon them: and they received the Holy Ghost.
And when Simon saw that, by the imposition of the hands of the
apostles, the Holy Ghost was given, …
3. Confession
John 20,21-23 Jesus said therefore to his disciples again: „Peace be to
you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you.“ When he had said this, he
breathed on them; and he said to them: „Receive you the Holy Ghost.
Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them: and
whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.“
4. Extreme Unction
Jam. 5,14-15 Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of
the church and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the
name of the Lord.
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man. And the Lord shall raise him
up: and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him!
